Ingredients 

  • 2 tablespoons of dried oregano spice. Oregano has many health benefits and you can use it to make Oregano oil or Oregano tea.
  • 1 teaspoon of dried rosemary spice
  • A teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 tablespoon of basil
  • 2 tablespoons of garlic powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon of black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of dried red chili pepper

How to Make Substitute  for Garam masala

Into a blender, add all your ingredients and blend for about 5 seconds. If you are okay with the consistency, no need of blending again; but if you are not okay with it, you can continue blending to form a complete powder. In making the powder, you can further sieve with a fine strainer to have a smooth powder. As for me, I prefer crushing them to use as a seasoning for pizza. Once done, your oregano with rosemary seasoning is ready for use. This is a great substitute for Garam masala (the common Indian seasoning made with different spices and herbs).

When your ingredients are properly dried, this seasoning can last for about 3 to 6 months when stored in an airtight container.
