Chili sauce (chili paste) is an easy condiment prepared with chili peppers; this sauce is usually made into a paste and used as a marinade, to season a dish after preparation or as a dipping sauce. Different varieties of chili sauce exist. However, the common ones are prepared with chilli pepper, sugar, vinegar, and garlic, the sugar is added to for sweetness and also to reduce the acids from the chilli pepper (sweet chilli sauce). Some people prefer it hot, hotter or mild in flavor and sometimes this sauce is prepared with red tomato as the main ingredient, whether you like your chili sauce hot, very hot or mild, it all depends on your choice. If you like your chilli sauce mild in taste, you can try taking out some of the seeds from the peepers, but there was no need of doing that because I wanted mine very hot and spicy at the same time.
Sometimes, chilli sauce may have a thick texture or very light texture depending, you can also use green chilli peppers to make green chilli sauce which I will show in another post or use red peppers to make red chilli sauce like the above.
This homemade chilli sauce is a healthy version and is far better than store bought, you can simply make this and store in the fridge and use it whenever there is need. Chili sauce is perfect for simple stir fries, scrambled eggs, tortilla chips and noodles. This chilli sauce has a very sweet flavor, easy to make and very addictive, you can try it out for yourself.
