GOSA ANTHEM
- May the mind of Christ my Savior
Live in me from day to day,
By His love and powr controlling
All I do and say. - May the Word of Christ dwell richly
In my heart from hour to hour,
So that all may see I triumph
Only through His powr. - May the peace of Christ my Savior
Rule my life in every thing,
That I may be calm to comfort
Sick and sorrowing. - May the love of Jesus fill me,
As the waters fill the sea;
Him exalting, self abasing,
This is victory. - May I run the race before me,
Strong and brave to face the foe,
Looking only unto Jesus
As I onward go. - May His beauty rest upon me
As I seek the lost to win,
And may they forget the channel,
Seeing only Him.
About GOSA
GOSA means Gindiri Old Student Association which is an Association of Old Students who finished from Girls High School (GHS) Gindiri and Boys’ Secondary School Gindiri (BSS). The schools were founded by Missionaries such as Karl Kumm, David Livingstone, and others. The schools are boarding schools and are separate schools of boys and girls within the same large compound known as Gindiri Compound Schools.Other schools in the same compound include COCIN Comprehensive College (CCC), Gindiri; School for the Blind Student and COCIN Theological Seminary.
Someone who completed from COCIN Comprehensive College is known as a GICOSAmember but not as a GOSA Member even though they both finished from the same Gindiri Compound.
GOSA has its National Secretariat in Jos, Plateau State. Each Set that completed from both GHS and BSS are referred to as the same GOSA set such as GOSA set 2007 shows they completed in the year 2007 and is both the set from GHS and BSS.
Gindiri is located in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, Nigeria.
The GOSA Anthem is sang during any gathering of GOSA Member such as during REUNION Service which holds every first Sunday of November annually. During this reunion, any GOSA and GICOSA member can come to reunite with old mates and meet towards seeing to the continuous growth and development of the Gindiri Compound schools. Other events such as Special Services where students have special Sundays in their schools instead of going to the Chapel also witness the GOSA anthem being sang. Any other event where GOSA members meet would most likely have the GOSA anthem sang.
The GOSA anthem has 6 stanzas and it aims to remind the members of the association of the motto of the Gindiri Compound Schools which is “For Light and Truth“. In order to shine the light, we are to have the MIND OF CHRIST which is exactly what the GOSA anthem aims to imbibe in all its ex students and also the students.
