I can say this repeatedly- plantains are my best chips ever, the taste and the flavour are nothing to compare with other chips: you can even eat the raw ripe plantain and feel full for hours with no harm, they are naturally sweetened foods with healthy nutrition, however, they are perfect for kids lunch boxes.

Plantains are always easy to come by at any season, but the only thing that may discourage you from buying them could be the price tag especially those freshly ripe ones. Since they are healthy food loved by many including kids, you may still have to get them even with theexpensive price weight over this ripe looking fruit. Apart from using the ripe plantainfor chipe, the unripe (green) plantaincould be used too for thesame purpose, it has a different taste entirely and many people even prefer to use the unripe plantain for for this recipe instead.

Additionally, unripe plantain is also used for porridge; you can learn more on how to make unripe plantain porridge here. If you are making plantain chips for a business purpose (plantain chips for sale), you can decide to cut the slices into circular, square or diagonally, but you have to makeslices smaller than what you are seeng above. However, you can purchase a chip slicing machine from Konga, or jumia for a perfect and easy chip slicing.

I have earlier written on boiled plantain with vegetable sauce of which there are many ways you can prepare this delicious food; one of such ways is by frying them like potato chips. The fried form of plantain is commonly served with jollof ricesweet stew and beans porridge (this is especially for those that love beans so much). Only a few restaurants include plantain chips in their menu, though you may see it being fried by some women by the road side, but I bet you, over soaked oil will definitely discourage you from buying it from them. The best you can do is to get the plantain and do the frying by yourself with a little vegetable oil at home. In this case, you just need the below recipes
